The Lagos International Trade Fair Declared Open [Photos]

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the premier Chamber of Commerce and a leading voice in the organised private sector (OPS) in Nigeria, held the opening ceremony of the 30th edition of the Lagos International Trade FairThe ceremony themed "Positioning the Nigerian Economy for Diversification and Sustainable Growth" took place on Friday 4th November, 2016 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos with the welcome address given by the President of The Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Chief Dr. Mrs Nike AkandeC.O.N.
Speaking at the event, Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode ably represented by the Secretary to the state government, Mr Tunji Bello said "I excitingly look forward to witnessing a high traffic of human, goods and vehicular within and around the trade fair complex with its attendant impact on commercial activities during the 10-day event".

Also addressing guests at the event was the National President of NACCIMA, Chief Bassey E.O Edem who commended the organizers for their commitment and zeal put into ensuring the success of this year's edition of the fair whose standard has continued to grow as a result of the dynamism put into the annual event.

Muda Yusuf, Director General of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said: “In addition to the General Interest Fair, the annual international business event will also feature the Business-2- Business Corporate Exhibition at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos between Tuesday 8th and Thursday 10th November, 2016 starting 9am daily.

  1. A trade fair should be held every year to encoruage importers of foreign countries to import goods from our country.
