Several Witness Ready to Give Evidence Against Judges Are Lined Up

The seven judges arrested in the controversial 'sting operation' recently carried out by the Department of State Services (DSS) will be arraigned today, October 27.

It was gathered the judges will be arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja on separate charges.
They were arrested on October 7 and 8 on allegations of corruption.

The judges were, however, admitted to bail on self-recognition and have been reporting to the office of the DSS for questioning.

Two of the accused judges, Justices Sylvester Ngwuta andInyang Okoro of the Supreme court had written to the National Judicial Council (NJC), describing their ordeal as political persecution.

With witnesses said to be lined up to give evidence against the judges, it was learnt that the prosecution has put measures in place to keep the judges away from tampering with evidence.
